Yorkwood Condos, Toronto

We are the architects for this 15,000 sq.ft mixed-use building located at the intersection of two major streets. Yorkwood Condos is the first redevelopment of its kind in the Jane and Finch area of Toronto. It is expected to revitalize the neighborhood and catalyze further redevelopment.

The intersection inspired the design of the building, which creates two masses wrapped around a center mass, highlighting the main entrance. The slanted roof also adds unique characteristics to define the roof amenities while creating a nice shaded outdoor BBQ area. The building will offer unprecedented views of the Downsview Park neighborhood.

The building is 12 stories high and has 171 residential condo units with one to three bedrooms. On the second floor, there are indoor amenities, and on the roof, there is a playground with outdoor amenities. The building also contains eight retail outlets on the ground floor. The substructure has three underground parking levels and allocated locker space for vehicle and bike parking.
