222 Albert Street, Waterloo

Mr. Aqeel was the principal architect for 222 Albert Street, a 12-story condominium building in the Northdale area of Waterloo. The building design is inspired by the site's context and environmental factors. The building facades vary and respond to the sun, wind and city views depending on their exposure. A 3-story glazed volume facing University Avenue becomes a moving screen to engage the pedestrian and vehicular traffic in motion. 

The building was awarded the 2017 Concrete Award for best design in the Pre-Cast category at Construct Canada.
